Building Skills for a Career in Technology.

In five years, I see myself having completed my education at Seattle Central College and having gained a wealth of valuable skills that will prepare me for a successful career in the technology field. I anticipate that I will have a strong foundation in computer science and information technology, with experience in areas such as software development, and data analysis.

While at Seattle Central College, I expect to have gained a deep understanding of computer science and information technology concepts, as well as practical experience working on a variety of projects and problems. It is important for an IT professional to stay focused on the goal and continue to work toward that result.

In addition to the skills, I will gain through my coursework at Seattle Central College, I will also need to work on my own to develop certain skills that are crucial for success in the technology field. For example, I will need to continue to learn and stay up to date on the latest technologies and trends, as well as work on my ability to think critically and adapt to new situations.

“Social skills reduce the cost of coordinating with others,” Deming said. “Each time there’s a new set of people, they have to figure out anew what their roles are.”

Overall, my goal is to become an excellent candidate for a job in the technology field by working hard, continuing to learn and grow, and building the skills that are necessary to succeed in this exciting and dynamic industry.

There are some examples of human-centered design.

First, no matter what kind of product you offer, your goal should always be to create and offer the best product to your consumers.

Human-centered designs can attract customers and help you to boost your conversion rate.

There are several examples of human-centered design from technology products.

First: “Fitbit”

It’s hard to know how many calories you burn in a day, so now we can know with the Fitbit watch everything, and we can track a healthy routine to be a healthy person in life. I have a Fitbit watch, and pretty much my life become easier with this watch. I can know how many steps I walked in a day even though I couldn’t go for a walk if I wear the watch.

Fitbit has a human-centered design. The designers of fitness trackers recognized people’s difficulties in tracking and maintaining exercise goals. "Equitable architecture begins with learning about the people we are designing for," says Campos

Second: “NETFLIX”

Before we had Netflix, we had to rent or buy movies and it’s very expensive to rent or buy one movie. Now, we can watch many movies for less price.

Their entertainment strategy depends purely on customers’ tastes and preferences. For example, if you don’t remember the movie you saw on social media you can search by the actor’s name and find the movie. “If you want to improve a piece of software all you must do is watch people using it and see when they grimace, and then you can fix that”. -- David Kelley, Founder of IDEO.

What Are the Causes of the Digital Divide?

There are a few causes of the digital divide that is increasing in our current time and technology has changed a lot, so that is changed growing problem in a lot of fields.

The first cause is " Age"

when I was young, we do not have any access to the internet because the digital divide has not developed in the past and our new generation has fully connected to the digital divide. They cannot live without it because everything in this world needs access to the internet. On the other hand, scientists for people over the age of sixty-five show that 44 percent have no access to or do not use it.

The second cause is “Social factors”

People with more money have more access to technology and the Internet. Those who have achieved higher educational levels obviously have more knowledge about its use and benefits. The digital divide mimics the divisions caused by income, education, and social standing all around the world.

The third one is “Racial, Cultural, and Language”

What I mean by racial, cultural, and language is that when someone speaks a language other than English, it will be difficult to use online resources because many of them are not accessible in a format they can understand fully.

How does the technology work with the LOT?

The Internet of things (LOT) means is a network connected with devices sending data over the internet. Also, we can share information and a lot of things between our devices by using the internet. In addition, technology work with the internet because nowadays we are using such an industry of smart things that are connected to the internet. “The technology that powers an organization has become just as essential to success as the product or service a venture provides,” tech entrepreneur Leon Hounsell wrote in Forbes. Smart devices have the hardware to collect data and shared it via the cloud and are integrated with the software.

The internet of things is influencing our lifestyle from the way we react to the way we behave, "Simply, the Internet of Things is made up of devices – from simple sensors to smartphones and wearables – connected together," Matthew Evans. For example, fitness mirrors are a way of using the internet and saving time and money, so we can do our exercise from our home without going to the gym. Another example is smart speakers, so we can live in the easiest way when we are using these smart things because they control smart TVs, smart plugs, and even smart vacuums. In conclusion, the internet of things is already helping to automate and simplify many daily tasks for businesses, industries, and the domestic arena. The Lot provides several important benefits including the ability to access and analyze data, removing the need for external data analyses or market researchers.

Reducing The Divide: Mandating Accessible Phone Devices And Services

Phones that do not have tactility, or no means to distinguish keys or to hear audio outputs of the features and functions, will leave those with vision disabilities out of the phone system altogether. Routine phone calls may become insurmountable if the technological barriers are not resolved well before the phone device enters the marketplace or as the phone services network is established.

Since the passage of the ADA, advocates have pushed for the enactment of various federal statutory and regulatory changes to ensure that telephone devices incorporate accessibility. These changes took the form of amending the nation's Communications Act with Section 255 to mandate accessible and usable design in telecommunications products and services if it is readily achievable for a phone company or phone device manufacturer to do so. Section 255 also requires Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems to be made accessible to and usable by people with disabilities, if readily achievable.

More recently, advocates initiated and influenced regulations to ensure that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the U.S.'s independent regulatory authority, amended its previous Section 255 requirements for accessible and usable phone services and equipment with the advent of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP).

What are your own strategies for studying?

It's never too early – or too late – to develop good study habits. The sooner you get into a good study groove, the easier everything will be, and the more your chances of getting good marks will improve.

1. Pick a place and time

Everyone has their own idea about the best place and time to study. Whether it's your bedroom at night or the library after school, find a study space and a regular study time that works for you and stick with it.

2. Study every day

If you study a little bit every day, you'll be continually reviewing things in your mind. This helps you understand things. It also helps you avoid the stress of last-minute cramming.

3. Plan your time

It helps to have some plans in motion so you can make the most of your study time.

  • Set alarms – Set alarms to remind you about your study plans. A regular reminder keeps you honest and your plans on track.

4. Discover your learning style

Most of us have a preferred way of learning. Get to know the learning style you're most comfortable with and study in the ways you learn best.

5. Silence Your Cell Phone:  Interruptions from your phone are notorious for breaking your concentration. If you pull away to check a notification, you’ll have to refocus your brain before diving back into your studies.
